Welcome To Marsh Farm
Marsh Farm bed and breakfast is a 200 years old farm house located on the edge of the village of Wistanswick, near Market Drayton in Shropshire. With beautiful views, Marsh Farm sits in a large country garden and is surrounded by unspoilt countryside.
Come and be spoiled by Liz and Richard at our welcoming farmhouse with its attractive accommodation and delicious food.
We are located within easy reach of the A41 making Marsh Farm ideal for both leisure and business guests, who have the choice of two large, comfortable bedrooms. The Green Room is a twin bedded double room with en-suite shower and the Blue Room is a king size double room with private bathroom.
Relax in your own guest lounge with satellite TV, radio and music plus French windows to the terrace and gardens.
Nearby are the attractive market towns of Market Drayton (market day is Wednesday) and Newport. The larger towns of Shrewsbury, Chester and the Potteries are also within easy reach.
Breakfast is prepared on the Aga and served in the dining room with an old inglenook fireplace, or on the terrace - weather permitting.
We enjoy serving local and organic produce, next door's free range eggs together with Liz's home made bread and preserves.
The Red Lion is our village pub, it is a 5 minute walk, it's a real local and serves good beer and Malcolm's pies are legendary! There is a wide range of pubs and restaurants within a short distance waiting to be explored.
As well as providing a base for both cycling and walking, we are ideally situated near to the Shropshire Union Canal, Woollerton Old Hall Gardens (our favourite) and several other nationally recognised gardens, National Trust properties, Hawkstone Park Follies and golf courses. Marsh Farm also provides the perfect base for longer days out to Chester with its City Walls and Roman heritage, the medieval county town of Shrewsbury with its interesting shops, the Shropshire Hills, the Potteries and the Welsh Marches.
Whether you are wanting a short break or a longer stay with us, you will be warmly welcomed with a cup of tea and a slice of cake, or maybe something stronger. We look forward to meeting you!
"By far the most welcoming and beautiful place that we have stayed at."
Trevor & Peggy, Alberta Canada.
